Lorie DePoalo is the working clay artist at Mossy Creek Pottery Studio for the 2018 Art on the Edge Studio Tour. Mossy Creek Pottery has a collection of work from 40 Northwest artists in a charming cottage gallery in the woods that border the beautiful Siletz Bay Wildlife Refuge.
Lorie DePoalo is best known for her fantasy themed paintings but lately has been inspired to sculpt clay faces for hanging on trees. “There is a critical need for balance between human activity and nature. Since trees are a vital part of sustaining life, perhaps seeing them with a face will remind us of our responsibility to protect our forests from over-cutting.” Lorie is the resident artist at Mossy Creek Pottery and her creations have found a fitting home amongst the trees there.
