Throughout my life, I have maintained a deep interest in fabric arts. My work has evolved slowly over time from weaving to quilting. Now, I explore the various facets of pieced work and fabric manipulation drawing inspiration the landscape that surrounds me as well as colors and patterns that resonate. Sometimes I start with a fabric developing a color palette and rough shapes from that. Other times, I begin with a concept of a pattern of a thought and figure out to create that with fabric. I don’t do sketches or make patterns. The pieces just grow. I piece that fabric with the sewing machine but do the quilting by hand. Lately, I’ve been playing with paper and fabric creating abstract collages with varying textures and imagery.
