When it comes to art, Michael Schlicting is out of touch with reality. What he is in touch with is the visceral emotion that a scene evokes. It is this probing, intuitive exploration that has given Schlicting’s art a deeper level of meaning, and in the process, gained him national distinction. His paintings hang in over 3000 public, corporate and private collections around the world. He makes his home in Portland, Oregon and spends his summers at his studio/gallery, the Hawk Creek Gallery, on the Oregon coast.
