Rebecca Hooper weaves with recycled crab pot line in her Gypsea Weaver Studio. She collects materials directly from commercial fishing fleets and dock dumpsters at the Port of Newport. Each item is a unique piece of Newport’s fishing history, supports commercial fleets with an alternative to the landfill, and represents pride in Oregon’s fishing culture.
