For the 2025 Art on the Edge Tour, the Lincoln City Cultural Center staff have requested to be in a support role, as opposed to the tour planners. Starting in July 2024, the newly formed Art on the Edge Tour committee began meeting monthly to plan the 2025 tour.
Current planning committee members are: Tara Choate (artist), Maria Sund (artist), Karen Gelbard (artist), Kay Klose (artist), Natasha Ramras (artist), and Krista Eddy (Lincoln City Cultural Center).
If you would like to participate in this planning group, please contact: artontheedgestudiotour@gmail.com
Mission
- Promote sales and exposure for participating Lincoln County artists.
- Providing an excellent art experience for visitors.
- Boost the image of Lincoln County as a place for the arts.
- Promote/support the Chessman Gallery and the Lincoln City Cultural Center (LCCC)
Dates
After much debate, the committee has selected the weekend of May 30 (Friday), May 31 (Saturday) and June 1 (Sunday) 2025 as the tour date. We understand that not everyone will be able to participate, regardless of what date is chosen. It is our hope that this date will work for most.
The show at the Chessman Gallery will be from May 23 to July 6, with the drop off May 19, 2025.
The deadline for artists to sign up to be a part of the tour is February 28, 2025.
Tour Location
At this time, the planning committee does not intend to change the scope of the tour from its original boundaries of fifty miles from the Lincoln City Cultural Center.
With that being said, we are aware of the concerns of the studios on the limits of this boundary. The committee is discussing options to drive traffic to all studios in 2025, including providing tour participants with a “passport” of studio locations and the encouragement to visit as many as possible to enter a drawing for a gift certificate.
One thing we know is that tour participants prefer to visit studios that are close to each other. We are strongly urging artists to pair up or participate in conjunction with nearby neighbors in order to attract more visitors.
Planning Committee Minutes and Dates
The next meeting of the planning committee will be at 12pm (noon) on October 9, 2024, at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. All are welcome to attend. The agenda for the next meeting can be requested by emailing: artontheedgestudiotour@gmail.com. It may change before the actual meeting.
Budget
As part of the planning committee’s goal of transparency, we are sharing the 2025 budget with artists on the tour. As you can see, we need 25 artists plus some sponsors to break even. This is important as the Lincoln City Cultural Center can no longer financially support the tour.
Any additional monies raised will go directly into the marketing items of this budget.
