Fiber, gourd art

Award-winning Gourd Artist, Jane Wilson loves working with gourds. “Gourds are a gift from nature; no two gourds are alike in size, shape, or color, so each piece is unique”.

Originally from Kansas and former oil painter, woodcarver, and pyrographer, gourds are a perfect fit for her artwork. She uses coiling, a basket weaving technique and lots of hand dyed color in her work. Her work often combines pyrography, painting, and weaving.

During the Studio Tour Jane will be demonstrating in LCCC’s Fiber Arts Studio Gallery.

The Fiber Arts Studio Gallery at the Lincoln City Cultural Center showcases Featured Artists’ Gallery shows and a working fiber studio with demonstrations and equipment to try, and items to purchase and treasure. The studio incorporates fiber Arts, handwoven clothing, weaving and spinning to see and try, knitting, crochet, basketry, quilting, rug hooking, and surface design.
